I have used this one for a while and found that it is a good all round programme offering a full range of protection, updates are free and available on the website. This one has been around for a long time so they should know what they are talking about. Note that only the DOS version is free. A very good virus scanner that will detect most forms of 'infection' allowing you to delete any infected file. Scans and protects your system on demand and in the background, a good place to start looking for your antivirus freebies. |

This is perhaps the most popular mail client of all time, until recently it's features were unsurpassed for a free mail client, but now with the Netscape Communicator and Outlook Express packages around it is starting to show it's age. Don't however let this put you off, if you want a stand alone mail package then you will want for little should you use this. This one too has been around for a long time and gone through a lot of development. It has a lot to offer and still has a large following, it,s also worth checking the homesite as ther are a bundle of add on's that can be downloaded there. Another full featured package with multiple account support and a host of other good things. This also comes in a German Version. This allows you to preview your email headers before they are delivered, that way you can clear the junk out before collecting your mail. This is another of those programs that I could not be with out. If say you want to download multiple files from a server but don't want to spend ages typing in all the addresses, just drag the links on to the Net vampire 'drop box' and it starts downloading in the background. There are other facilities such as scheduled downloads and a built in search engine. Get this one !!. A nice simple FTP Prog. with all the usual features such as create and delete directories on the server. A multi threaded FTP client (and http) that will offer you an awful lot of gadgets to play with, give it a go it's free. A nice little download manager that will resume the download where it left off should your connection get broken.
